DORAL SECURES SUBCONTRACT TO ADMINISTER STATEWIDE MEDICAID DENTAL PROGRAM IN MASSACHUSETTS
Mequon, WI– Doral Dental USA, one of the largest multistate-administrators of government dental benefits in the country, currently serving more than 7 million members in 18 states and the District of Columbia, announced that it has received the subcontract to administer the Massachusetts Medicaid dental program. The Massachusetts Medicaid program, called MassHealth, is state managed and covers both children and adults.
Doral secured the subcontract from Dental Service of Massachusetts (DSM), which was selected by the state to implement the MassHealth program for a three year period, with options to renew up to a total of six years. Under the subcontract with DSM, Doral will perform claims processing, dental provider network development, provider and member relations and utilization management services.
“DSM is honored that Massachusetts has selected us to administer its Medicaid dental program,” said Kathy O’Loughlin, President and CEO of Dental Services of Massachusetts. “We are looking forward to working with Doral, which is nationally recognized as a leader in expanding access to oral health care for low-income citizens.”
There are currently 1,000,000 children and adults enrolled in MassHealth. After completing a four-month implementation period, Doral will begin administering the MassHealth dental program on December 1, 2006.

Doral recently won the contracts to administer the managed care-based statewide dental programs in Georgia and Ohio. It also holds contracts secured directly with the states of Tennessee and Virginia to administer dental benefits programs there.
