How We Reach Out
DentaQuest uses proven outreach tactics such as: screenings, health fairs, in-school programs for pre-schoolers and teens, mobile van units, direct mail, follow-up calls, and oral health fact sheets targeted for members.
DentaQuest also reaches out to professional organizations and advocacy groups by participating in professional conferences and community-based organization meetings. Our objective is to inform and educate these important groups on the nuances of the underserved dental population. These types of organizations include:
- Social welfare organizations
- Public health associations
- Human resource agencies
- Head Start programs
- Children Shelter projects
- Child advocates
- Social service clubs
- Commissions on children and youth
Such member outreach efforts help us achieve our objective of increasing access to care for the underserved population. Programs in Tennessee, contributed to the improvement of the state's HEDIS scores which grew from 37.5% to over 60%; in our Illinois program, HEDIS scores increased from 20% to 45%; and in New Mexico, access grew six-fold from 9% to 65%. DentaQuest outreach programs are tailored to meet our client's goals, and we offer a variety of initiatives each accompanied by percentage-of-increase estimates.
